UEFA European Football Championship 2012 is going to be the 14th European Championship for national football teams. It will be hosted in Ukraine and Poland from 8th of June to 1st of July 2012. This is definitely a great event and it requires special approach which influences not only preparation of the countries but exclusive design and decoration idea. So this time we are going to pay attention to the very design of Euro 2012.
46 days before start of Euro 2012 in Ukraine and Poland the whole world was presented with a special tickets design to this marvelous event. The very presentations took place at the main stadiums: “Olympic Stadium” in Kiev and “National Stadium” in Warsaw.
Let’s talk about the tickets design. So, they are made in horizontal format with a huge flower on the front side. The leaves of the flower symbolize a stadium and teams flags – participants of the competition. In the bud of the flower a number of match and information about stadium seat are depicted. The reverse side contains an instruction for fans which explains how to get to the arena. The front side also includes a special ribbon which implies one of the many entry protection levels. What about the logo of the European championship 2012, it is created in the form of a stalk with a flower and three branches. The central flower is a ball, the left one is made of white and red colors as Poland’s flag, and the right flower is yellow-and-blue like the flag of Ukraine. These bright colors are considered to fit the image that Poland and Ukraine want to bring to the world perfectly. Moreover, you can notice a silhouette of a person with the arms wide open which is meant to represent the hospitality of the countries.
The symbol of a growing flower is just in line with the aspirations of Euro 2012 host countries and depicts the desire to “create history together” in a very vivid manner. The logo is aimed at giving a championship a personality and visual identity while being depicted at a wide range of promotional materials, on- and offline. The purpose is to promote the event and make it convey the flavor of both host nations. What is not less important, is the colors picked up for logo creation – green as a woodland, yellow like a sun, blue like a sky, aqua blue and purple like blackberry – they are so true and nature-inspired!
